Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply to the GARD Center?
We focus on youth and women in Antigua & Barbuda who are looking for a real path to employment or starting their own business. If you’re motivated to learn a skill and build a better future, we encourage you to apply.
Do I need experience or qualifications to join?
No. Most of our courses are designed for people with little or no prior experience. What matters most is your willingness to learn and commit to the training.
How much do the courses cost?
We work hard to keep training accessible. Scholarships and support are available for those who qualify, and no one is turned away simply for being unable to pay. Contact us to discuss your situation.
How long do the courses take?
It depends on the course. Most run for several weeks of practical, in-person training. You’ll find the details on each course page, or you can ask us directly.
What courses do you offer?
We offer hands-on training in agriculture, hospitality (cookery and food & beverage service), customer service, business management, and IT. Visit our Courses page to see them all.
Will the GARD Center help me find a job?
Yes. Through our internship and job placement programme, we connect graduates with local employers and support you as you step into real work.
Where is the GARD Center located?
We’re on the historic Gilbert’s Estate at Mercers Creek, St. Peter, Antigua & Barbuda. You’re welcome to get in touch or visit us during opening hours.
How can I support the GARD Center's work?
You can donate, partner with us, or hire one of our trainees. Every bit of support helps us reach more young people. Visit our Donate page to learn more.
